Since he won the WM Phoenix Open last year, Brooks Koepka's equipment setup has undergone a significant adjustment. He had the freedom to play whatever clubs he wanted during the competition the year before because he was a free agent. Brooks signed a contract with Cleveland-Srixon in November 2021 and joined the organization as an official employee this year. The most obvious evidence is a black, white, and red Srixon staff bag with his name on it.

Srixon ZX7 irons were in his bag at the WM Phoenix Open a year ago, and nothing has changed. Brooks began using those irons in January 2021, and based on the manner he continues to discuss them and their distinctive V-sole shapes, it doesn't appear like he will stop using them any time soon.

In the WM Phoenix Open pre-tournament news conference, Koepka claimed that switching to irons had been one of the simplest transitions he had ever undertaken. Since joining the Cleveland, he has acquired more Cleveland-Srixon clubs to his collection. He adopted the brand-new Cleveland RTX ZipCore Tour Rack Raw wedges. Since he used to play Cleveland wedges as a child, finding the proper sole grind for his turf interaction was the key to getting comfortable with his new wedges.

Brooks Koepka WITB: Driver - Srixon ZX7

Koepka has a new Srixon ZX7 driver at 10.75 degrees in his bag, and it is attached to his tried-and-true Mitsubishi Diamana D-Limited 70 TX shaft. It seems logical that he didn't change his driver shaft although he altered the heads because they matched up to previous specifications.

But Koepka seems to be most enthusiastic by the switch of the golf ball. He has been using a Srixon Z-Star prototype since November 2021, which gives him greater height and stopping power with the irons, giving him an advantage on the PGA TOUR's quicker and harder greens. Keopka claims that despite the increased height, the ball is still remarkably stable in the wind.

Koepka continues to utilize two clubs that have been in his bag for a long time: a Nike Vapor Fly Pro 3-iron and a TaylorMade M2 Tour 3HL fairway wood. In addition, he uses a Scotty Cameron Teryllium TNP2 putter, which is a fresh take on the T10 Select Newport 2 proto that helped him win last year.
