Jordan Spieth's historic major victory came at the 2015 Masters. In addition to breaking the 36-hole (130) and 54-hole (200) scoring records, Spieth tied Tiger Woods for the lowest 72-hole total (18-under-par 270).

Jordan Spieth comes from a lineage of sportspersons. His mother played basketball for Moravian College, and his father played baseball for Lehigh. Steven Spieth, the younger brother of Jordan Spieth, plays basketball for HKK Zrinjski Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina after previously playing for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA's 2017 summer league and for Brown University.

Although Spieth participated in a variety of sports as a child, baseball was always his top choice. However, he made the decision to concentrate on golf at the age of 12, right before he met Cameron McCormick, a coach who was originally from Australia and had traveled to Dallas to play golf for Texas Tech.

Spieth's ascent through the junior ranks of golf was meteoric: at the age of 12, he shot 62 to win a competition; at the age of 16, he finished 16th in a PGA Tour event; and at the age of 16, he led the UT Longhorns to an NCAA championship. He also won three straight Texas state championships and joined Tiger Woods as the only players to win multiple U.S. Junior Amateurs.

Spieth, as successful a champion as he is now, was thought of as a weak closer prior to 2014. He won the Australian Open in Sydney at that time with a final-round score of 63, winning by six strokes. That, according to Spieth, gave him the winning mindset and the confidence he needed to win the 2015 Masters.

During the same years, 2015, Jordan Spieth masters triumph was iced with a victory in the US Open to complete a double. Prior to his 2017 Open Championship victory at Royal Birkdale, Spieth won the Australian Open the following year.

Spieth was re-signed by clothing juggernaut Under Armour to a 10-year contract through 2025 during his breakout 2015 season. He served as the Baltimore company's first head-to-toe PGA Tour ambassador as they entered the sport. The contract included an annual eight-figure guarantee, bonuses, stock options, and a clothing line that included his trademark Jordan Spieth golf shoes.

Around Thanksgiving 2018, Jordan Spieth wife, Annie Verret, his high school sweetheart and the golfer tied a knot. PGA Tour members Jason Dufner, Jimmy Walker, Rickie Fowler, and Zach Johnson all attended Jordan Spieth wedding. The couple got engaged over Christmas of 2017 after first meeting while attending high school in Dallas.

Spieth devotes a lot of time to developing his Jordan Spieth Family Foundation, which supports children with cancer, junior golf, the military, and special needs children through raising money and awareness for these causes.

Spieth enjoys fishing and once attempted to reel in a tuna in the Bahamas for 2.5 hours before learning that a 300-pound black tip shark had already devoured it. He is a major Dallas sports fan who frequently attends Cowboys home games, stands courtside for the Mavericks, or plays golf with Tony Romo, who is now retired.
