Tiger Woods What's In The Bag?

Tiger Woods WITB

Five five-time Masters winner has quite an extensive playing resume, and it's impossible to exhaustively document it. As such, let's move right away to his club set-up. Woods has a relatively stable set of clubs because he doesn't switch out his equipment all that frequently, particularly his irons and wedges. Here are details about Tiger Woods WITB.

Tiger Woods WITB

Tiger Woods WITB - Driver: TAYLORMADE STEALTH PLUS

Although he had a TaylorMade SIM driver in his case, the 15-time major champion used the new TaylorMade Stealth Plus driver at the 2021 PNC Championship. It has an 8.25 degree elevation and a Mitsubishi Diamana D+ Limited 60 TX shaft. The TaylorMade model with the quickest swings and most reliable ball-strikers is the Stealth Plus.

The Stealth Plus has the lowest launching and spinning speeds of the three heads in our evaluation, using the same loft and shaft configuration. It produced exceptional ball speed, carry, and overall distance performance, making it the longest as well. We also liked the way it looked because you couldn't really make out the red face at address and the stealthy, matte black crown makes a classic, compact shape down behind the ball.

Tiger Woods WITB - Fairway Woods: TAYLORMADE SIM TI, TAYLORMADE M3

Tiger's fairway wood setup right now seems to have changed a lot. He had previously designated the new Stealth Plus as his three-wood, but it appears that he has switched back to the TaylorMade SIM Ti variant.

Tige Woods also had a SIM Ti five-wood with him, but he has switched back to the M3 variant. They both have Mitsubishi Diamana D+ Limited shafts and have lofts of 13.5 and 19. The M3 is the club that will occasionally be withdrawn from the setup to make room for a longer iron. During the 2022 PGA Championship, for instance, he did so to make room for a P770 two-iron.

Tiger Woods WITB - Irons: TAYLORMADE P770 and TAYLORMADE P7TW

Woods has occasionally used a few longer irons in his bag, as we already noted. He replaced his M3 fairway wood and his P7TW three-iron with a P770 two and three-iron for the 2022 PGA Championship.

It's interesting to note that Tiger switched to the P7TW Prototypes in 2019 from the TW Phase 1 bladed irons. Woods has placed the tungsten in each club to create a particular combination of flight, feel, and control that he has grown accustomed to over the years. One intriguing fact is that Woods' set's CG actually increases in the short irons. The milled grind sole is the primary distinction between the P7TWs and the P730s. Woods uses True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shafts on all of his irons.

Tiger Woods WITB - Wedges: TAYLORMADE MG3 TW GRIND

Since the majority of his game relies on feel, the 15-time Major champion is extremely picky about his wedges. As a result, Woods frequently uses the same model, and at the moment he uses two TaylorMade Milled Grind 3 versions with lofts of 56 and 60 degrees. He seems to be missing a gap wedge, but his sand wedge may be more powerful than the stated 56° or his PW may be slightly less powerful.

Tiger Woods WITB - Putter: SCOTTY CAMERON GSS NEWPORT 2

After switching putters a few times over the years, Tiger typically returns to the same type, a Scotty Cameron GSS Newport 2. One of the most well-known putters in the world is his former Newport 2 GSS putter, which he used to win all but one of his 15 Major championships.

Tiger Woods WITB - Golf Ball: BRIDGESTONE TOUR B X

For many years, Tiger used a Bridgestone Tour B XS prototype golf ball, but at the 2022 PNC Championship, we think he switched to the Bridgestone B X design. Tiger has a history of favoring softer golf balls because they offer him more spin, allowing him to mold the ball and exert some control around the greens. He has preferred to use the softer three-piece balls in the range ever since signing a contract with Bridgestone for golf balls in 2016.

Tiger Woods WITB - Golf Shoes: TARLOW FOOTJOY PREMIERE SERIES

Finally, Tiger had been playing golf in Nike shoes for a very long time, but he showed up at the 2022 Masters sporting FootJoy shoes. Woods was sporting two sets of black and white FootJoy Premiere Series Packard shoes, but he frequently wore the Tarlow model instead. It has the recognizable cap-toe shape but also features contemporary accents like the sheepskin lining and spiked soles, which provide excellent stability and traction. Tiger currently looks to mix and match between these two shoes.
